The most important issues dealt with regarding destinations

Since 2010 ECTAA has undertaken the activities that had formally been fulfilled by IFTO, the International Federation of Tour Operators (see press release). These activities aim to ensure the continued long term success of the package holiday by influencing both governments and opinion makers on the benefits to consumers and other stakeholders of package holidays compared to other forms of holiday arrangements.

To accomplish its new mission and objectives, ECTAA fulfils the following list of activities:

1. Liaise with governments at destinations regarding outbound tour operating issues;
2. Facilitate the exchange of information of member’s activities in key areas of operational delivery – crisis management, health and safety, sustainable tourism, promotion of best practices, etc.;
3. Promote the positive and professional image of the industry in Europe and in overseas destination countries;
4. Monitor all developments in legislation on health and safety directly affecting the members’ business.
5. Promote best environmental and sustainable management practices.
